Default d16z6 auto swap

I have a 94 civic dx. The engine was smoking so I swaped a d16z6 in it. I keeped it auto and didn't wire up the vtec. My question is would the engine turn on and run okay with the auto d15 non vtec ecu. I installed everything and tried starting but it wouldn't turn on. Is there some wiring I have to do for this swap or should I just start trouble shooting. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that the car sat for six months or so with 1/2 a tank of gas and the battery was dead but I charged it for a little while and still wouldn't start. And yes I am getting spark and fuel, but maybe not enough because of the d15 ecu.

I Could be wrong, but i dont think Vtec has nothing to do with it. ( Not sure ) It should Start up.

I Put a D16Z6 in a DC ( Funny I Know ). everything was PnP an gave it a few cranks an it started right up. an i did not have Vtec wired up. the car drove like a champ lol ( but i did have a P28 )

Your ECU ( May be your problem but prolly not) Try getting a P28.

Wouldn't hurt to Trouble shoot.

Motor is turning over, the timing was ok. I am going to sand down and clean up the grounds but there all on, ill check the fuel main relay and fuses. I'm also going to hunt down a p28. Could a really low battery not let it turn on, it cranks but does not start. Ill check fuel pressure also. Thanks people, I gotta get this car running.

Another question, should it be pnp or is there wiring involved.
