D16Z6 ARP Headstud torque?
My headgasket is leaking, i think i may just need to torque my head down again. I think i went with factory specs, but i remember there being a sheet with my studs that listed the specs which i lost. I tried searching and didn't find anything. A little help?

Re: D16Z6 ARP Headstud torque? (Luserkid)
I spent about an hour searching Google after posting, i found at the ARP site, 70 with lube, 85 with 30w.
I'm currently running 10w40 in my engine, when i try retorquing, is this going to throw it off too much?

The oil they are talking about is what you lube the stud with before you install it or torque it. Not the oil in your oil pan.
My D16Z6's ARP studs are torqued to 66ft lbs with there moly lube. I thought 73 ft lbs was the spec with 30W.

Buy a thing of 30w oil. Before you put your head on, dip your finger in it and spread it around the threads, put the head on and then torque. If the heads already on just stick your finger around there to lube it up.
DONT DO 85 WITHOUT CALLING ARP! I have never heard of torquing the head studs that high, so i wouldnt do it.

I didn't say "You're wrong, get the **** off this forum and stop spreading false information". But obviously one of you are wrong, and i think it's the site i linked.
My headgasket seems fine actually, i pulled my plugs and all are evenly burnt, no signs of coolant on them. So, something else is causing the horrible smoking.

Well putting that link up and me saying what they told me conflict with each other. So if someone sees this thread in the future theyll be like "what the hell is the correct answer" Its best to call and post what they tell you so there could be a real answer.
What color is your smoke?

It's white, but i don't believe it's coolant as i don't have coolant on my plugs, i do have coolant loss, but i believe it to be a coolant leak. I don't know the smell of coolant out the exhaust, is it the same as warm coolant smell from a leak?

Yea the smoke should have a sent like coolant if your burning it. Usually smoke will have a scent in the background of it that you could find out whats burning. What color were your plugs when you pulled them?
