D16Z5 into DX swap...
Guys,
Since you're the experts, you can probably tell me if it is possible to swap a D16Z5 into a civic DX '92 (EG4)?
Two problems I see are changing the transmission from cable to hydro and obd1 to obd0.
If this is at all possible, what can I do best, use obd1 ECU and sensors, or just go back to OBD0?
And will the hydro gearbox just bolt onto the D16z5, or do I have to use a conversion kit?
Can I use the original axles, or do I have to swap these too?
I know i'm asking a lot of questions for a newbie, but you guys are my last chance!

fisrt off i think you mean d16z6 not z5. And somebody correct me if im wrong but the 92 civic already came with a hydro tranny and not cable (could be wrong)
Any ways assuming the dx already has hydro tranny the swap would be straight forward.
get a p28 ecu, and wire the vtec and youll be straight.

I DO mean the D16z5, it's the engine in the european CRX '89 / '92 it's a Non vtec DOHC motor, and it has a cable tranny.
Don't know if you have an engine like this in the USA, but i believe it's almost the same as the D16A9, I believe this one is in the canadian Del Sol?

Im pretty sure since its a d-series motor it should still directly bolt to your transmission in your 92, using your existiong axles. Not to sure about the wiring though

oo ok the d16z5..the DOHC one with the 9.5 cr. ok well any ways yeah you are going to need the hydro to cable tranny, harness, mounts, ecu and so on. but should be just as easy as installing a zc motor

Only problem with the hydro > cable kit is that a can't find a reseller in europe, and because of the time limit i have it won't be possible to get one from the US so any bright idea's about the tranny?
