Default D16y8 VTEC solinoid

I found this picture online of a solinoid hooked up correctly.

And mine looks like this.

Can any one give me detailed instructions on how to hook this up?[/

Hope not cause i sure cant find on in my engine bay... although there is a wire un hooked thats coming out of the intake manifold

They prolly dont have anything todo with this. though. So all that needs to be hooked up is the green wire... its all by itself. Is there a spot on the p08 to put it?

Sr420Det you said JDM vtec solinoid... does the solinoid come with the ZC block which is JDM or the D16y8 head which i would assume is usdm

But true I dont see where the pressure switch would be hooked up.

So i spliced the a4 to the solenoid since theres no oil pressure thing for the vtec i didnt do that.

Drove it around the block and screamed it to 6200 or so and felt no change... do i have to unhook the battery or anything? Would the type of wire matter? I used an old speaker wire "copper".

Any ideas?

You don't really "feel" D series VTEC, you pretty much just hear it, and that's only if you're really listening.

run a wire from pin D6 to the vtec solenoid as well. normally it goes to the pressure switch, but if there isn't one and you aren't using a JDM OBD2 B-series ECU it will look for one and vtec wont engage. to fix this simply run a wire from pin D6 and splice it into the vtec solenoid.

Hate to say it but your'e not going to "feel it" on a sohc. Maybe a little change in sound. What ecu are you running? And by the way that loose plug looks like it's for the evap purge solenoid.

You need to go to a junkyard, cut the ECU plugs off the harness, leaving about a foot of wire, depin a couple of wires and pin them into the correct slots and then splice onto them, you will need to open the flaps on the ecu plugs to get the pins in an out. I believe you can actually buy new pins and crimp them on too, if i remember correctly they're made by tyco and if you know what you're looking for you should be able to order them.

The harness is OBD2, P08 ecus as far as i know are all OBD1, they are for the OBD1 JDM D15B vtec. I assume someone either used a conversion harness or cut the ECU plugs off the harness and spliced on OBD1 Plugs.
