d16y8 vs.d16z cam question,vehicle weight 2
I would like to know if the d16z aftermarket or oem cam,retainers and springs will fit in a d16y8 cylinder head.
what is the dry vehicle weight of an ek civic lx in comparison of a civic ex.

i think all the valvetraing and cam will work. check on a site that sells aftermarket cam for them and check the part# if they are the same for both you got a definate answer. you can also try searching this site. im sure its been asked before.

Yes and no, the cam timing will be off enough to drive you nuts unless you use a Z6 cam gear.
The LX is slightly lighter than the EX. Not enough to matter being the EX comes with a nicer transmission and engine.

If you go with the zex 59300/105300, then you have to get either the zex/comp valvetrain or the skunk2 valvetrain. They are the only ones that I have found that can handle the 0.455 lift on the zex cam.
