Icon2 D16y8 swap ecu question

Hello I have a 98 civic with d15z8 engine and im swapping in my d16y8 from my del sol, will I need to get the ecu unlocked? Cheers for any info

you need a p2p ecu. unless you have a obd1 harness on the y8, then you need a p28

how do I know if its a p28? as on my ecu from my y8 it has 37820-p28-g03?
also a p28 is from a z6? need one by weekend as the engine is at the garage ready to swap

p28 i belive is a obd1 d16z6 ecu. if will run the y8 find with a obd2-->obd1 harness.

can you post a pic of the plugs on the said p28 ecu you have?

from my research it seems they do a p28 for a y8 aswell which is obd2a, what am I gunna need to do swap?

can I not use OBD1 injectors, alternator, and distributor and run a p28 from a z6?

You can use the OBD2 P28 as it is the same as the P2P. As far as unlocking it I'm not sure as in the US you wouldn't have to but I know some European Honda Civics have an immobilizer.

Swap is done, running on original ecu while I wait for an adapter from rywire, engin runs fine no codes but I do have a plug with no were to go as old intake mani had 6 plugs and new mani has 5 any solutions? Will post a pic of plug when I get home
