Default D16Y8 swap to B16

I need some advice....I have a d16y8 in my 97 ex, I want more power and have read about the B16 or K20 swap but I am new to the Honda scene and have never attempted a swap like this before. I was told and have read different forums about this swap but I am still unsure about everything that I may need and an approximate cost of this project. In order to complete this swap including a/c and power steering what will I need? Will I need to swap the tranny as well?

Yes, you'll need to replace the transmission.

Start off with the FAQs, found here. More specifically, sections 4, 6B, 6C, 10, 12, and 13.

Just got done swapping my EK 1998 LX with a b16a and I'm loving it,
The b16a would be a PnP in your civic ex if its manual you can use your old harness and keep the mounts. Only thing you need is complete the b16a(tranny axles headers etc..)

For a k20 you need like custom made mounts for hassport maybe a little shaving to the engine bay

You can also go B18C1 with the y8 harness. The mounts should be the same (for the most part) except for the rear t-bracket and front lower torque mounts. You will need a s80 or y80 B-series Hydraulic Clutch Transmission and an ECU. If you want a stock running swap, you can keep OBDII with a 96-98 ECU from a Integra GSR for the B18C1 or 96-97 Del Sol VTEC for B16. Or a B18C5 with a Type R ECU but this may hard to find.
Expect about $2500+ for a B16 or B18 Swap.

K swap is a whole different animal, with about 2-3x the cost. But, then you do end up with a K.

Go with more displacement, b18 or b20. The b16 is a little gutless.
