Default d16y8 preformance upgrade questions

I have a 2000 honda civic ex with the d16y8 engine (automatic) in it. what can i do to increase hp and tourqe? i already have an aftermarket intake on but what else can i do? im thinking a new exhaust system/header, down the road i want to do a 5 speed conversion. but the real question is can i put a turbo on it? should i even put one on? or should i just put other stuff on to increase preformance? $$$ is tight so low price ranges are proffered but its ok if its a little spendy. any suggestions would be very useful. Thank you.

This thread is a joke.

Why are u even thinking of boosting your automatic?

Your bottle neck will always be your transmission. Don't modify your engine anymore till you get a 5 speed swap.

once you get that 5 speed, you can turbo that d motor.

YEA, 5 speed for sure! I hate the sound of automatic cars with an exhaust

ya, manual tranny please. then for some cheap fun, boost it!! i thought about boosting vs swapping a y8 for forever. i plan on sticking in the 200-250whp range, so for less than half the price of a swap, i am gonna boost and will still have way way way more power/torque. done right and it's as reliable as stock..

research on www.turbod16.com to find out more.

oh and if u do decide to boost, dont get headers - u'll have to replace them with a turbo manifold if u do. get an exhaust system that will suit ur boosting needs.
