Default D16y8 pm7 pistons

Anyone here have this setup? Stock crank, stock head, stock cam. I'm about to go for this setup as soon as i can source a crank(spun a rod bearing and damaged the journal) and I'll be running a cometic 2.5mm head gasket. Just wondering if anyone has tried his and how reliable it is. Anyone's input? (May be in the wrong forum section)

Reliable? In terms of what?
I type your thread title into Google and I get this.
https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...w=1828&bih=862

Don't tell me none of those threads answers your questions.

Here's another link you need to get familiar with.
https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...w=1828&bih=862

Here's a quote:
the p29/pm7 pistons will give you a 12.6:1 compression ratio in a stock d16y8 with a stock headgasket. that compression is kind of high for a daily driver.

I have already looked through all of those threads and posts prior to creating this thread. Couldn't find a single thing about maybe the HG being too thick or compression being too high for 91 octane pump gas. This is why i was asking if anyone had done it to hear from them instead of people just posting their theories or information based on the compression calculators.

You didn't ask if the headgasket was too thick. You only mentioned what headgasket you were going to use. You asked if it was going to be reliable. If you're going to NOT use the standard parts when doing this mod and you DON'T know how to calculate compression then just stop. If you don't want to use the compression calculators as a tool to inform your judgement then stop. If you don't know if compression is going to be unsafe for pump gas then stop.

Because when I put your info into the calculator I get 10.9:1 compression ratio. The Zeal calc seems to estimate pretty well if you know what you're doing. So from what I see doing this doesn't net you too much compression over stock (9.60:1). So my question to you is why? If you're scared of high compression then leave the car alone.

Why you people keep trying to build N/A D-series is beyond me. It is an utter waste of time.

Oh. And here's a link on the link on the limits of 91 octane as it pertains to compression.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/91-octane-compression-limit-2858823/

Please don't tell me with a straight face that you searched.

And I hope you plan on getting this tuned.
