ok, i hear that the IM from the 94 has different sized holes than the d16y8 head. and also, the d16y8, being a different engine wont go as well with a z6 ecu will it? is the fuel curve and everythign different? and will the distributor from a z6 and eveerything work? these are just some basics ?'s i have while i consider a swap

ok, how does this sound: the y8 engine and transimission, the z6 computer... can i use a 94 dx dizzy and manifold and everything else? im guessing that should work but somehow there could be prblems...

The coolant port on the B7 mani may not line up properly, or it may be of a different shape than that of the Y8 manifold.

P28 will work fine.

You can't use a Z6 or Z1 distributor on the Y8 head, either swap to the B7, or re-pin the harness to retain the OBDII piece.

Another factor would be the alternator. You can either use an OBDI or you can also re-pin/rewire the harness to retain the OBDII piece.

I believe your stock b7 distributor will work fine on the Y8 head. You will need headbolts from a Y8 also, D15 and D16z6 are different lengths.
P28 is a great choice to run your sohc vtec.
You'll need to run a couple wires into your engine harness for VTEC, or get a Z6 engine harness (EX/Si models)
You have no need to worry about OBD2 issues.
I don't think you'll have manifold issues either but I would still upgrade at least to a Z6 manifold. There's a guy in Classifieds section selling the whole setup cheap.

well, the y8 is in a junkyard and i can get it real cheap. the whole car is complete. i could use the y8 mani, so then i would jsut have to switch everythign off that and put on my b7 stuff correct? i have done replaced an engine in my 88 crx before, so i know basics but i dont know much about compatibility
