I cannot for the life of me remove the lower middle nut that holds the intake manifold on. can someone please post pics or tell me what tool i need to get it off?
thats the only bolt i have left.

ok, ill give it a shot. i was using a socketing wrench but that doesnt reach too well since its square with the handle.

you need either a deep socket for the extra depth or small extension. and good luck getting it back on! I think that's even worse than taking it off... you need 2 highly coordinated fingers and some luck.

do I lube up the new paper gasket with oil? it doesnt say to do so in the haynes manual.

thats a pain in the *** nut to get out. dont drop it once you get it loose!. to put it back is also a pain. i used a needle nose pliers and two fingers underneath to get it started. finished it with a small 1/8th drive socket.

I know how to get it back on, i just need to know if i have to lube up the gasket or not.

i use a hex tool that i let the nut sit through it on the short end and have the hex butt sit in the middle of the stud while my other hand threads it on.

I'm sure this isn't a big issue at all and you might not have this issue but DONT BE A RETARD LIKE ME AND FORGET TO UNDO THE BOLT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MANIFOLD TO THAT BRACKET. Stupid me when replacing my headgasket removed all the manifold bolts, the manifold would move away from the head but not all the way. I was furios as to wondering as to why the fugger would not come off all the way. I got my prybar and started prying that thing. And yes.. I broke my friggin prybar. 15 min later I read my haynes manual and say that there was a bolt on the bottom to a bracket. I undid it, and the manifold came right off.. Idiot me.

As for removing your nut, it was annoying since I had to remove it using a closed wrench and moving it a LITTLE at a time. As they mentioned, DON'T LOOSE THE NUT!

That would be the knock sensor

Where is this bracket located?? I literally cannot find it or remove my intake bc of it. Every video doesn’t show it or they just don’t have it, d16y8
