Your concern wouldnt be with the manifold. you need to spend all your money on the valve trane and cylinders. for some real turbo powerrrrrrrr

Dude, you have the y8 Manifold, also known as the "type R" of the D series. I upgraded mine to one. A brand new edelbrock manifold, compared to yours, is not gonna do anything really for power, nothing noticable. Spend your money where it counts. It may help, but a bigger throttle body will be MUCH more worth it. Its not worth the money for it, its more cost effective to get a Type-R throttle body.

I've got a skunk2 intake mani on my y8 and if I had to do it all over again I would have saved my money. Just get a type r throttle body and have it port matched to the y8 intake manifold.

Re: D16Y8 INTAKE MANIFOLD (burningwrek)
larger throttle bodies only feel like they give you more power because it takes less foot action to open the butterfly...it will actualy hurt your top end adding a larger throttle body. just press the gas more...and save the top end.

Really????????? The Edelbrock manifold makes more power than the stock Y8....why wouldn't you want more?? You want to finish second????
haha

thats true to a point. its kind of the same reason a n/a engine doesnt need a 4" exhaust. It also doesnt perform well on a 1" exhaust, but a 2.25" exhaust seems to be the best in between solution for a n/a 4 cylinder like our hondas. so while a stock throttle body performs decently, a slightly bigger one might perform better, while a 80 mm throttle body would just suck.
