D16y8 intake mani onto a d16y7??
sorry to ask, i DID search first and didnt find anything......
thinking of putting a d16y8 mani onto my d16y7(automatic) daily driver. for the price i cant go wrong, so my questions are:
1. are there any modifications required to the new mani?
- if yes, are there any diy's for them?
2. are there any performance gains from this swap or am i just wasting time?
thanks for your help HT!

Get a complete AUTO Y8 manifold. Its a complete plug and play with your car. If you get the manual youll have to make a IAC block off plate so the IAC is covered and throw your throttle body on the manifold to work.
What you need other then the manifold is:
y8 throttle cable
Y8 throttle cable bracket.
Very simple and very good upgrade for that motor.

Same here, but o well it looks way better and now I can go for the whale *****!!
As for the swap you DON'T need a y8 throttle cable you can use your old one. you use your y7 throttle body, but just swap out the metal peice that that the cable attaches to, a y7 trottle body gasket, y7 fuel injectors, fuel rail is interchangable, you will also need to unbolt an exhaust hanger under the car because the mount for the y8 IM will overlap that bolt and keep it from sealing tight to the block with coolant all over the place. you'll still want to find a write up for all the vacum/ coolant lines as they will be located in different places...well good luck man
