Default D16Y8 .. How Do I replace the Dizzy ? Tips?

Ok , So I am pretty sure my Dizzy is shot . I am going to be replacing it soon enough . How do you go about replacing one? I have never replaced one before on any car. I know its not that easy where you can just take the old one off and bolt on the new one. Anyone have steps / threads where it shows how to go about this. Thanks.

Take the old one off.

Bolt the new one in place.

Jump the service connector (like you were going to check for a code).

Use a timing light to verify/correct the timing.

Before removing the old one mark where it was and then measure the new one to ensure that the bolt is put into the exact same position so that you don't have to re-time the car.

um no...its gonna be near impossible to just try to measure and get correct timing. the new dizzy might not even produce the same timing value at the same position.

do it correctly and use a timing light. it takes all of about 30 seconds.

It may help the guy to supply him with a few links to timing lights for sale and a guid on how to use it properly... god knows I would't want to screw it up on a budget!
