D16y8 Header ???
not sure if there is a thread for this already but whatever....what would be better for D series block...4-2-1 or 4-1...motor is stock

That really depends on the header. Rather than focusing solely on the configuration, set a budget and then choose the best header that fits within it.

personally i would go with the 4-2-1 header because the d dose not make power in the higher rpm's like the b's do so i see no point to a 4-1 also having said that
When SMSP built his Honda on here he made a 140whp with 117wtq with a 4-2-1 header not a 4-1
NOW if your running carbs that’s a whole different story i would then go with the 4-1 header
This is just a general idea for a general build if your going radical build then perhaps that might warrant you going with a 4-1
