Default D16Y8 Intake manifold good enough??

Hi im building up my D16 and my plans include a 14B turbo kit, pistons, rods, etc. is the stock Y8 intake manifold good for this application or should i really spend the money on a type R or skunk2 or somthing along those lines?
Thanks for the advice.

that stock IM would be fine - but id say get the Skunk2 IM if you want to get a little bit more out of an IM and if you want to spend the money. and out of curiosity...from what type r would a manifold fit on a d series?

Y8 mani are the best oem in the dseries world. But, I wldnt really see spending 250 for an intake that probly aitn gonna help that much. Thats tuning money right there man

a B series manifold will never fit on a D16, the general public should know this by now

with boost, a skunk2 would most likely perform better than a stock y8 manifold.

i guess none if thats what you all say but a freind of mine put a type R from integra on a d16 but hes a crazy fabricator and built a 8 sec. civic with 12 valve A20 so i sure he just made it fit.

If any manifold get a Edelbrock, or if you have deep pockets...a sheetmetal intake w/ v-stacks.

Unless ure a d series race fanatic, I wouldnt waste the greens. True, Mani wld help out, but wldnt see spending the $ to get a few hps, and if not lose torque. Deff not a Edelbrock. Not good at all for torque. They make power 9k+. Dont see a turbo dseries living above 9k for too long. best bet , if youre changing, would be a s2 like you was saying. Not to bash the dseries crowd a bit. I was rocking it for a while w spray. y8 for few bucks or s2 for few hundred. ure choice.

A B series and a D series on the same type of power (all motor, forced induction, etc.) making the same amount of HP will make approximately the same amount of torque.

Quit being a tool.

yes the y8 intake mani will work fine. And to the guy who said that a b series and d series will make the same torque is crazy. If you put down 300whp on each motor ill gurantee you that the d series will put down more torque. You know anything about rod to stroke ratio? If you did you would know a d series would out torque a b series.

Yes the D would. And as most people know (and I'm sure you do) it's easier to extract hp from a B.
