Default D16y8 head gasket on d16z6

If i put a d16y8 headgasket on my d16z6, how much will it raise the compression? Are there any problems with doing this? Will i have to use a higher octane?

the y8 head gasket is 1/2 as thick as the z6. It will raise compression just a little bit...you wont really notice with a butt dyno. You *might* see a small increase in power..but not much. You wont need higher octane and you should have no problems with doing this. I talked to a few friends at honda places and they use the y8 in z6 all the time because its soo much cheaper..and you get a small performance increase.

The nice part about the y8 gasket is its 1/2 the price of the z6.

the y8 gasket will raise about .2 it's a good upgrade if the head is off but not worht taking the head off for. also if you can find one swap over to the y8 intake manifold it's the biggest d series manifold.
