Default d16y8 dizzy help

Ok so heres my issue I have a wiring harness from a manual 98 ex.The new engine i put in is from a 99 ex automatic and now my dizzy does not seem to want to plug in.I have read the plug for the dizzy changes after 98 https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...y8+distributor .MY question is can i use an earlier dizzy that will work with the plug i have and if so what are my options. If not can i somehow convert a newer one to work with the engine harness i have. When i put the new engine in i did not realize there was a difference.

Do you still have the dizzy from the original engine? If so, try putting that one on and see if it resolves your issue.

I just put in a 2000 Y8 in place of my 98 Y8 and all the plugs were the same for the dizzy. Both engines in my case were manual transmission though. I doubt it, but there may be different plugs for the manual and auto transmissions.

According to the part numbers on the Majestic parts fiche the dizzys are different from 98 and 99. You probably need to find one from a 98 for it to work. That or maybe just rewire the dizzy you have with the correct plug.

My swap was already installed in a 96 by the guy I got it from so that issue was already resolved it seems.
