Default d16y8 to d16y7 swap ek

Threw a rod on the y8 and I have the y7 laying around. Will this harness and ecu work from the y8? onto the y7

or do i have to move some pins around

it will throw codes for VTEC
The fuel maps are different so it may throw a code for that too.
And maybe a knock sensor.
But the harness will work no problem. are both motors the same OBD2?

you will need the y7 computer. If the harness is from an automatic ex, it will work. You will have a couple extra plugs for the knock sensor and the vtec. If it is from a manual, you will need to change the pins for the iacv and get a pig tail from either a dx or an automatic ex, and add a third wire. I would suggest using the intake manifold from the y8. This will ensure the wire harness will reach the sensors. If it is from a manual car you will have to use the y7 throttle body with it and leave the y8 iacv attached to the intake manifold to plug the holes.
