D16y8 Comp Cam ???
I just ordered a stage 1 Comp Cam. I have heard different things about installing it w/changing springs/retainers...
1. Yeah it will be fine with stock springs/retainers but you can't take it past 7,000 rpms.
2. No you are going to **** something up.
My question for ya'll is; will I be ok with the stage 1 w/o changing the springs/retainers?

Does the manufacturer recommend it? And whats the working rpm range for the cam.
I'd basically say..........."yeah it will probably be ok with stock springs/retainers, but dont take it past 7k or you are going to **** something up."

Re: (jlacoy82)
The manufacturer says it will be fine with the stock ones and I don't plan on taking it past 7k... It doesn't give a specific RPM range but it says "Excellent torque and Mid-High end power"

if you dont take it past the stock rev limit you will be fine. if you planning on reving higher then your stock limit then i would upgrade.
if you already have the head off, i would just upgrade while it's apart. Their not that expensive, and being able to take full potential of you cam and reving higher is always a good thing.
platinum.
