I replaced the HG on my Y8 and I have a timing question.

I thought the timing marks on the cam pulley are supposed to line up to the mating surface of the valve cover? If I use the timing pointers on the plastic cover it the cam is slightly advanced?

on the cam gear there is 2 marks that are horzontal (like its cutting across it) with a "up" marke centered above it on the top of the gear. Then you have that odd ball mark in the lower left corner (same as the other 2 just in the lower left), line this is with one up with the one on the plastic cover behind the gear and the cam will be tdc.
