D16y8 to B16a2 swap problems PLEASE HELP
Hey guys.
I have a 1997 Acura 1.6EL (civic EX 4 door d16y8) that I have started a swap on. My B16a2 is an OBD2 from a 1996 Del Sol including all engine wiring harness, tranny, shift linkage, axles, etc.
My problem is that the Wiring harness that came with the B16a2 does NOT clip in to the stock harness going into the firewall. On the drivers side, the stock d16y8 harness had one grey socket with blue plastic inside that has 10 wires whereas the new B16 harness has 3 sockets (one which I am pretty sure is not used because it has a cap on it) One of which has 2 wires (Black/white, and Black/Yellow) and the other that has 14 wires.
I also noticed that the B16 does not go direcly to the computer, it clips in to a harness that would go into the ECU, whereas the D16y8 harness goes directly to the ECU without clipping into anything on the way there.
What should I do? whould I try and splice everything or just use the D16y8 harness and add a knock sensor.
Please help me as my car is off the road until this is finished.
Thank you

Try http://www.rywire.com. From the sounds of things you're looking for a conversion harness fromm the b16a2 harness to the stock firewall harness. if that doesn't work, why not use your stock d series harness and wire vtec in yourself?
