D16Y8 aftermarket header - What gasket do I need?
So i have an aftermarket exhaust header (4-2-1) on my d16y8 and i want to replace the gasket between the header upper and lower portion. Can i just purchase the stock gasket from the dealer or do i need to buy a specific one for that header ? i have no idea the make on the header cause i bought the engine used and had a shop install it, but now i hear sputtering and was told that gasket needed to be replaced, sometimes i see smoke when i have the hood up and i'm pressing on the throttle cable.
let me know
thank you

Your header is 2 pieces? Then yes you will need the proper exhaust gasket from the manufacturer. I can't help you without knowing what your aftermarket header is.

The stock gasket is two metal rings. Unless the aftermarket header you bought has an indentation for them they cannot be used.

so i finally got around to replacing this gasket and sure enough the old one was bad, problem now is one of the bolts doesn't tighten back up, there's 3 bolts in total and the other two are tight but the last one just spins... do i have a striped bolts or a bad stud ?
i circled the location of the stud i'm talking about. any help would be appreciated.
thanks
