Default D16y8 after market cam

couple questions about installing a aftermarket cam in my Y8...

1. Would i have to up grade my whole valve train? if not which cams could i get away with stock valves and which ones couldn't i?

2. As far as brands is one better then the other? I mean if i get a blox with the same duration and lift as a Skunk2...is there a difference?

3. Speaking of blox...How do you feel about like a Blox stage 2? I found one online for a reasonable price and dont know much about the company or their products.

4. As far as the Stage 1, Stage 2 ect.... I know that some are better at high Rpms or low Rpms depending on what you want but what would be the best for everyday driving?

5. Finally...I have a D15b Head (obd2, 3 stage Vtec) i dont know if many people know about these head but if you do how is the cam in that? is it better or worse then the Y8? maybe i could swap cams n get a jump in power?

Thanks guys! even if u cant answer all please try to lend a hand if you know anything about them because im new at head building/

Don't buy blox cams do a simple search about blox and you'll find out why some people like them some don't they make a lot of cheap knockoffs if you are serious about getting into the d16 look into bisimoto cams and yes with most of these cams upgraded springs and retainers are either needed or recommended and before you hit the street you need a tune or you wont get the full potential out of the cam.

More power he says. It's not an old V8 where you can simply swap cams and make some kind of hidden power.

Can't disagree with you there. I always tell those with D or B series motors to save up for boost, nothing compares for the money. I just wish the stock D rods were able to handle more power

Read about N/A builds here and the power that's achieved. You will be disapointed.

If you do go with cams, you need to find one that is good for your compression ratio. Most will need a higher compression ratio. You will have to build the entire engine. Yes, you want to upgrade the valve springs, retainers and so on as well.

+1 to this. Save your money, and read, read, read. You can learn almost everything you need to know about modifying Hondas by reading other people's build threads.
