Default D16y8?

My brother ran 16.4 at the track with his 97 civic ex. Can he get at least high 15's with street slick and gsr ecu?

Even with minor bolt-ons, you'd still only run low-mid 16's. High 15's would probably call for more aggressive cams, valvetrain, and a cam gear all with a tune. That should be like 15-30whp and should run you mid-high 15's.

mostly stock with aem intake and 4-1 header. The last owner of this car ran high 15's with back seat remove, light weight crossdrill rotor and light weight rims. Right now this car have the back seat, stock rotor and gsr blade.

He'll spend more money getting his y8 into the 15's n/a than he would turboing it.

Slicks don't just magically make your car faster, your car needs enough power to utilize slicks.

A y8 doesn't have that.

And a gsr ecu would make your car run like ***.

Slicks, I/H/E - and him not sucking at driving would put him to like a 15.9

Umm, where would the 2nd camshaft go?

Slicks will help if you have a MAJOR traction issue. With a d16 that has minor bolt-ons you won't have the torque to spin drag radials mcuh in 1st. In other words, you won't shave much time with them, if any. B16's gain time because they usually have to launch very high, and their gearing is much shorter.

you could go and drop about a thousand dollars for I/H/E and gain MAYBE 15-20 horses....or you can spend about $500 and get a bottle of squeeze that would net you at least 50 horses.

Pick up a Helms, read it, go on turbod16.com and read read read. Then when you are done reading, invest some time searching for turbo parts and invest a small amount of money. I/H/E only on a Dseries is going to get you nowhere.
