d16y7 valve adjustment??????

Default d16y7 valve adjustment??????

hey honda-tech members.....i am getting ready to adjust my valves on my stock d16y7. i just needed to know the clearence specs. i have searched on here and yahoo, and i get different specs for my motor .. if anyone could help that would mean alot

Stock D16A6,D16Z6 and D16Y8 Cams
Intake.....007-.009" (.17-.22mm)
Exhaust...009-.011" (.22-.27mm)

should be near the same to these numbers

thanks man i did .009 intake .011 exguast, i still have motor ticking idk if its the injectors or wat

Tighter is better...I'd go for a .007 and .009 myself. But if it continues, just might be a bearing? Ran low on oil lately?

naa i have kept oil in it,, its not a knocking its a light ticking,, i highly dought its a bearing

y7 doesn't have lost motion assembly (no vtec) and the specs are on the emissions sticker on the underside of the hood

Don't go too tight. Keep the car in factory specs, there is reason why there are specs to begin with.




What you have to understand is these cars have noisy heads to begin with, as well as injector click. You can adjust the valves until your ready to pull your hair out and still have a clicking engine. It's just how they are.

A messed up bearing will cuase a "knock". I have heard many spun bearings in my life, and never once heard one click.
