Default d16y7 timing belt done wrong?

i just swapped a new motor into my 1996 civic cx motor was out of a 1999 civic dx, i was having trouble starting the motor so i turned the alternator counter clockwise and got the engine running, and idleing no problem, when i rev the motor up it revs up fine but when i let go of the peddle for the engine to go back to idle it makes a weird noise and has a hard time running, i did the timing belt extra tight could this be causing this? or could this be from it not being alined properly? or something els?

I would take everything off and follow the factory service manual on how to align everything and correctly tension the timing belt. Then go from there. I have no clue what your problem is but if you did the timing belt and did not follow proper procedure that could be your problem.

Loosen 14mm tensioner bolt and see if it makes a difference? Check a/c and PS belts too

sounds like something is rubbing check timing and tension on all you'r belts. And stop revving the engine whilst it sounds like that you're possibly off a tooth or 2.
