D16Y7 intake airbox
today i was checking my K&N filter for condition, it got me thinking...
I took away the intake pipe and the resonator
and left the airbox only
what stops people from placing a cone filter directly on the airbox ? and they have to buy those intake kits from AEM, etc.
basic mod with no money involve

why even a cone filter? just leave your KN in there and don't hook up the tube...
D16y7's suck so ******* much anyway, i would never pop the hood until a new motor was going in anyway. i HATE my Y7.

Re: D16Y7 intake airbox (BAR-F1)
you know you can also just keep your k&n panel filter and just take a dremel and cut off the bottom half of your air box below the clamp. then just turn it upside down so the filter is open element from the top. That was our old budget tip back in the day before "cones"

yeah when i didnt have an intake i just took out all the piping. it was really loud but it didnt do too much for horsepower. really it is sucking in alot of hot air.
