Default D16y7 iacv problems

Hey all.
i took off and cleaned entire intake manifold and fuel rail on my96. I cleaned the iacv and reassembled everything.the car now has the infamous erratic-idol.i have taken it off and recleaned. I also replaced with another used and cleaned one with no help.
i ended up deleting it with a piece of aluminum can as I saw in a previous post.it is much beter but this is obviously temporary.
Any ideas? Thanks

Why did you remove it and clean it in the first place? Did you replace all of the gaskets?

Bleed the coolant? Check for vacuum leaks?

So you ignored the basic concept of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", and you broke it.

Bleed your coolant, check for vacuum leaks. Did you fully disassemble the IACV to clean it, or did you just spray it out and reinstall?

Drained system Replaced all hoses with silicon hoses ,aluminum radiator, thermostat. Everything is full and running. I've actually ben driving it for few months like this. All the vacuumed lines are secure and there is no leaks. I'm trying to avoid buying new iacv since I have 2 and I know there fine. What's the proper way to bleed without using the funnel.i know y7 has no bleeder screw.

Put the front end of the car on jack stands, or park it up a hill. Remove the radiator cap. start the car, and let it run. When it reaches operating temperature, the fan should turn on. Let the fan cycle on and off three times, while keeping the radiator and reservoir full.

I did that except I wasn't on a hill.i just kept adding to the radiator while the fan cycled.should I do it again while the front is up?

Yes. Air will go to the highest point in the system. If the car is sitting level, the radiator cap will not be the highest point, and air will bubble up in the cooling system. Jack up the front end, repeat process.

You don't need to disassemble the entire intake assembly to clean it. There are chemicals that'll do that for you.
