Just wondering why you would want to do this head swap. I don't think the y7 is vtec but I could be wrong. Or is your current head warped, deformed in some way... Just wondering

D16y7 is Non VTEC 96-00 OBD2 civic's, mainly DX, LX, CX, models. Its 16valve, unlike the D15b8's head which is 8 valve. Itd be the equivalent of having a d15b7. I dont know how compatible the heads are, so to be safe id say it would be better to swap a D15b7 head on. Gains will be minimal tho, the D15b8 (civic CX) tranny has the longest gears that honda makes.
