Default d16y7 extremely leaky engine dip stick.

So whats the procedure on fixing this? Searched for it but theres really not much to be a had.
Basically the dip stick can be moved 1-2 inches around, not locked in up top, and at the bottom ive sprung a nice leak. This is the last leak to fix on the car so im hoping somebody can fill me in on the parts i need to procure to fix and the procedure.

Thanks guys,
Hayden.

The tube the the oil dipstick goes into can be removed by unclipping it from the timing cover, then pulling. To re-install, replace the o-ring on the bottom, and gently tap it back in with a hammer.

So do you need to pull at an angle since the dip stick goes into the block at an angle? OR just straight up? If the clip holding it to the block is missing would this be the reason for the leak?

Are you sure the oil leak is from the dipstick tube? I suggest you look higher up.

Also, if you plan to work on your car, invest in the service manual.

Yeah its the dip stick. I've already replaced every other seal. Cam seal, crank seal was fine, rear main was fine, oil pan gasket replaced, distributor as well, head gasket and spark plug tube seals replaced. Leak is coming directly from the dip stick. I've done the belts, timing belts, flywheel and clutch assembly, alternator so i've looked the beast over a couple times. Looks to me like i need to take the power steering pump out of the way and its pullies and belts to be able to pull the dip stick out?

You didn't mention the valve cover.

Did you read the diagrams I posted?

Oh okay, didnt mean head gasket and spark plug tube seals, meant valve cover gasket and spark plug seals. But yes its coming from the dip stick.
So do you pull up or move the power steering pump and pull the dipstick diagonally out of the block?
I've read through those before doing the timing belt and seals, but it doesn't say a damn thing about the dip stick. Telling me to "remove lower cover and dip stick" isn't very helpful. lol
Dip stick is lose and pivots around like its on ball bearing but to pull up on it, it definitely doesn't feel like it's coming out.

Most people just stick a shop rag over it and pull with vice grips or something similar. And to replace I personally gently hammered it back in hitting directly on the tube's head. Tap tap tap, and it was in.

Updated:
The day after i yanked on it with some vice grips and a rag for 10 minutes and it finally came out. Big a bigger o ring on it vs the shriveled up oem one and leak free. Car holds oil now and leak free.
