Icon2 D16Y7 - do the pistons hit the valves?

When the timing belt tears on D16Y7, may the piston hit the valves?

Just ask.

Thanks!

How may I find at what mileage the timing belt was changed,
since I do not have a sticker on the timing belt cover,
and I guess cannot contact the previous owner.
Is a visual inspection enough, and what to look for?

What's the mileage interval for changing the timing belt on D16BY7 - 60 or 90K miles?

The belt should be changed before 105K miles (normal driving conditions). If you have no reliable record of the belt being replaced, then assume that it has not been done.

You can't normally tell by looking at the belt, if you can it needs to be replaced yesterday!

105K IIRC or every 6 years.
