D16y7 and d16z6 head compression ??
i can get a head for cheap and i have a d16y7 in my crx right now
What kind of compression and hp wil i be looking at?
i can get a hodl of some d16a1 pistons too.... but not too sure what the complete
set up will yield.... i used the online d s-eries calculator.. but couldnt figure it out

i would try to get the y8 IM ...i just put my z6 IM on my d16(y7) a lot more hp but i had to modify a lot of the wiring to make it work....still got a check engine light though....so thats my 2 cents

The site to use is usually this one: http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm
Interesting...they don't have the Y7 piston specs...so I honestly dont know ????
I can't imagine it being that much though, because the Y7 and Z6 blocks are identical, and according to this site http://www.heeltoeauto.com/dseries/dseries1.html the Y7 pistons have a greater dish than the Z6...which in theory would make the compression lower than 9:1

Re: D16y7 and d16z6 head compression ?? (BauleyCivic)
i was told to use the value of -2.2 for the y7 piston
so that yielded 10.7 compression....
so that yielded 10.7 compression....

Really? So a Y8 has a compression of 9.6:1, and having pistons that have an even greater dish are going to yield a compression point higher?
READ THIS: http://www.heeltoeauto.com/dseries/dseries1.html The Y7's have a greater dish than the Y8's...you have to enter compression volume in CC's
