d16y7 to d16y8 exhaust (hatchback)
Why do aftermarket companies sell exhausts by body style? Honda sells the exhuasts by engine, D16Y7 or D16Y8. Same part numbers for DX hatch, coupe and, sedan. I plan on getting a aftermarket header and I know I need to change the setup. Do I just buy all D16Y8 stuff (header, cat, and cat-back exhaust)?

Aftermarket companies know people that "mod" there cars dont know what the **** there doing and all they know is that they have a civic DX and the year, or an EX and that year. So any aftermarket company will just say the body and year and know what they want.
People that know what there doing know what to get and dont have to worry about thinks like that.
If you have an EX buy stuff for your EX.

Re: d16y7 to d16y8 exhaust (Luserkid)
I have a 99 DX (D16Y7) Hatch but want to get headers (only available for EX, D16Y8) and still use a cat. I just wanted to see if anyone has tried to buy a complete EX coupe exhaust for thier DX hatch. I just keep hearing people frankenstiening everything, no one seems to have tried this. I guess I'll be the first.
