Break away from the stereotype. Put in some effort. Do some research. Read the FAQ stickies.

Specifically, these two threads, since you don't seem to have an idea of where you want to go with the car, what you want out of it, or how to get there.

Since you're talking about putting a turbo on it later, you should also read this.

That being said, the Y7 and Y8 blocks are essentially the same. The only difference that matters for you is the head. The Y8 head is a VTEC head, the Y7 head is not. That's it. You haven't told us anything useful about the pistons, so we can't tell you if you should use them, or try to trade them for something better, but since you said "low comp", I'm going to go out on a limb here and tell you to get rid of them. Find someone who doesn't know better, and trade them for pistons that are stock, or higher than stock compression. Low CR for boost is the 90's way of doing things, and is no longer right. At all.

You've said that. Remember the part where I said "break away from the stereotype"? I was talking about the stereotype of the dumb, ironskulled muscle meathead who doesn't know a breaker bar from a torque wrench, and drools over phrases like "7.2 liter" and "vortech". Use your eyes, use your brain, and put in just a tiny bit of effort. The information you want is literally RIGHT inside of the FAQ sticky that I linked you.

While we're at it, it's VTEC. Vtech is a child's toy, or a portable phone.
