D16y7 block cracked?
My name is Colin. I'm new to posting on here but I have a question I can't seem to find an answer to anywhere.
Working on rebuilding a D16y7 bottom end for boost. Took it all apart and as I am inspecting the block, I noticed what I believe is a hairline crack down the side of the crankcase. I would like to know if this is indeed a crack and will cause me issues, or if is there a proper way to fix it? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks :) https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...ab6f9baf8e.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...4d3e9c09ad.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...63a2723d77.jpg I also noticed several other spots with these \"cracks". It almost looks like its part of the casting. |
Re: D16y7 block cracked?
Yeah casting slag is what it looks like to me.

Re: D16y7 block cracked?
Agreed. It's just the casting.
