Hey everyone, I'm might buy a 92-95 civic which needs an engine. I have a built d16a6 engine from my old crx which i want to put in it. I will have both complete engines to do the swap, the blown d16z6 and built a6. I'm sure i will need to do something with the ecu and various connections to finalize the swap. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For the money you will spend in conversion harness and ECU, why don't you just buy a freaking good Z6? I see them all the time as "swaps" for $250-$400.

because the a6 has forged pistons/rods . The engine is completely built from top to bottom. I'm sure it won't cost a lot of money to put it in there. I think i've heard to use the z6 manifold and everything should connect.

please gimme some direction. Can i just chip the obdI ecu with the d16a6 map?

just switch intake manifolds,b7,z6 and be done the a6 goes in the same just have that coolant sensor next to the oil filter unhooked, the obd1 is on the thermostat, switch that and be done lol. its very easy get a z6 tranny and she is wild motor to boost. I just did mine a6 with eagles and vitaras, with 16g and 25psi, she f/n rocks only been in 2weeks and got 600 miles on her. no track times yet its in a 95 coupe

Also have to use the obd-1 distributor and engine harness. All of the mounts off the 92-95 will bolt up directly to the a6. I put a d16a6 in a 93 del sol (same engine bay as civic) and it was like dropping in the stock engine

thanks for the input guys. I just wanted to make sure i wouldnt run into too many troubles in doing the swap. I thought it was pretty straight forward. I'll use the tranny and intake manny already in the car.

Single Cam EJ1 - No its not a dx up in Portland.

You dont need any conversion harnesses BTW.

yeah, for some reason I was thinking about putting a Z6 into an EF chassis... and not the A6 into an EG chassis. Oh well. Too many late nights in the garage.

So if the EG is a DX then it would be more complicated right? I know would need the resistor box from the crx and i would have to use the crx intake mani and ecu? Thanks

use the EG intake mani and ecu, then just have to put the d16z6 distributor on it...not sure if it will fit though
