d16a1!?
im sort of new to this whole honda tuner scene.. as i am only 17.. i recently purchased a nice eh3.. but it had a vx motor in it.. (dont ask).. and since im 17.. im looking for something faster.. my first thought was to work all summer and buy a gsr.. but 3kis alot.. then i was thinking of a mini-me build.. and eventually turbo etc..
anyyyways.. my friend was looking around in a junk yard today.. and said he spoted a d16a1.. said it was a twin cam out of an old intergra.. said he could get the entire car.. running, ecu, everryyything for free.. i know this will fit in my eg..
how much modifining will be needed.. since its older than a 92.. its probably OBD0.. is that a bitch to change from OBD1 to OBD2.. and will my 5 speed d series tranny mount up to it?
if for some reason i come up with some spare cash.. can i buy a gsr or b16 head? (i didnt think itd work.. but worth asking).. did they ever make a twin cam d series vtec?
ANY Info Would Be Awesome
THANKS A LOT
-Cody

and dont even think about mini-me on the z1, compression will be 7.6:1 unless you swap the pistons, which is a whole nother story.

if you have to ask if it will work it wont. how many 92+ civics you see sporting d16a1, theres a reason.
