Default D16 WIRING HARNESS

I own a 97 civic coupe and im swapping a 95 z6 motor into it. The original motor was not V-Tec and the new one is, and the original non-vtec wiring harness from the 97 doesnt just unplug from the engine bay like the 95 did. I know the 95 doesnt have a knock sensor but other than that im not sure of any differences between the harnesses. Im buying a 92-95 ecu and the OBD2 to OBD1 conversion cable. Would I be able to use the 97 harness on the 95 motor? (possibly without a check engine light?)

Yes you can use the 97 harness. You will need to add wires for the vtec solenoid and vtec oil pressure sensor, do the 3 wire to 2 wire IACV mod, and also lengthen a few plugs as well.

Check these out. I know they are for a B series but a D series swap is basicly the same.

Ok so, I work at a parts store and ive been on the computer now for the last half hour and i cant come up with a part number for the IACV plug, all i can find it the IACV itself, no plug. Anyone happen to know the plug number by chance? I could go to the junkyard but thats kind of my last resort because im rebuilding just about every aspect of this motor with brand new parts im trying not to get anything thats used.

I think you'll have a really hard time finding a new plug. If you're so concerned about appearance just clean the one you get from the junk yard with brake clean or something.
