D16 Valve Cover bolt broken in head
Hey me and my friend were swapping a y8 head onto a y5 block and ran into a little problem. The valve cover bolt is broken off inside the head on the upper part where there are two bolts(not near the spark plugs).
I'm thinking about drililng it out but that seems risky
Any suggestions?

easy out. head 2 sears, get the crapsman easy-out kit. one end of the bit smooths out the bolt part. the other end will grab and reverse it out. use a power drill but very slow rotation w good pressure down on it.
ive done it at least 10 times.

I would recommend against using a drill to extract the broken bolt.
Instead, use a hand tool to turn it out slowly.
As a precautionary measure, use penetrating oil beforehand.
Once you get a bite, the broken bolt should start turning. If not, stop and take it to a shop. You will complicate matters exponentially if the ez-out breaks off.
Should be less than 20 clams.
