Default D16 Turbo Running Rough

d16z6 turbo 7psi

I was on my way to work yesterday just cruising along and my car crapped out on me... Lost all power and it acted like it was missing like crazy... I managed to get off the interstate and into a parking lot... I changed the fuel filter due to it acting like it was running out of gas and went ahead and changed the plugs... The wires are new... I'm at a total loss on this one... I've called friends and posted a thread on Dseries and have gotten little to no help...

Here are the things I've checked and or have been replaced...

Replaced Head gasket (recently)
New 8.2 Accel wires
Replace OEM NGK plugs w/ OEM NGK plugs
Checked/cleaned FMU
Checked/cleaned fuel pump
Checked vac lines
Replace vac purge
Checked FMIC for blockage
Checked turbo
Checked/replaced fuel pressure regulator
Added 5 gal of fresh 93 w/ half a can of seafoam to tank
Checked oil for milkshake
Checked anti-freeze for massive coolant loss
Checked cap/rotor/button
Checked/adjusted timing (may still be off, was done by hand the old fashioned way w/ no light)

I'm not tuned... I don't have a chipped p28... I do have a check engine light but have no way to check the codes... Have not done leak down or compression test b/c I don't have the tools to do it... Like I said, I'm at a complete and total loss on this one... Help?

Hmmm....wow, could be a lot of things. Any other symptoms?

Not being tuned, having a check engine light.....
Does it drive like it has no power? depending on which code is thrown, it could be in limp mode, not letting the engine rev past like 4000 rpms and severely limiting power.

Mine did it after I past 10psi, cause that's the point a 99-00 civic ecu goes into limp mode when in boost (without using a MAP sensor spoofer).

problem number 1......obd1 engine and harness with obd2 ecu? knock code my first guess. check all your grounds? check for spark on all 4 cylinders? might be the dizzy causing a mis.

I do have a spark tester and I could check for spark but haven't yet...

I found out I am running a p2p ECU on a z6 engine... A guy on Dseries made a big deal bout that so I'm sure theres some truth to it being a problem...

Everything in the dizzy seemed fine... I guess I could replace the cap and rotor just to make sure...

I have no way of checking for codes b/c I had to get it home on a rollback...

How do I get it out of limp mode? Unhook the battery to reset the ECU?

Could my MAP be bad? How can I easily check?

obd1 ecu's are reset by disconnecting the batt. obd2's arent. code will still be stored until its on a comp to reset to my knowledge. if you have spark to all 4 cyl, the dizzy should be fine. im betting its n ecu problem. get it tuned w a stand alone system, not a piggyback.

Compression tests come back positive... Nothin to jump up and down about... All cylinders reading in between 160 and 170... Norm is 186... I spark tested it and all 4 cylinders are gettin fire... Plugs were black... Cleaned and regapped plugs... So the motor is good to go... Only thing left to check is the codes...
