d16 tranny
hey guys, my syncros went out in my d16z6 tranny and i thought it'd be easier to just swap trannys i just checked one o my buddy's civic and it has an s40 tranny that he'd be willing to give me for practically free. the tranny in my z6 is an s20. would this be a good swap?

i think the s40 is the ex trans correct me if im wrong check if it has B000 at the end, but if it is an EX trans same gear ratios but jus steel shift forks

The only thing S20 really tells you is that its a '92 - '95 D-series tranny, same as the S40 tells you its a '96 - '00 D-series tranny. What you actually want to look at is is the small stamp on the back of the tranny around the differential, it will either say A000 (CX/VX/DX/LX) or B000 (EX/Si/HX) you want the one that says B000, just try to make sure that its not out of an HX, they use the same gears as the '96 - '00 CX/DX/LX, but use a big bearing case, weird.
