d16 takes way too long to warm up, changed thermostat
what other things can make a motor take a long time to warm up? I thought for sure the thermostat was stuck open but I replaced it and it does the same thing.
I just drove to my friends house over 15 miles away and it was just warming up when i pulled in the driveway.

The cooling fan may be coming on, check the temp sensor to be sure its working right, it may be telling the ecu the motor is running warm telling your fan to come on. Other then that Im out of idea's. Sometimes it takes a while for the motor to warm up depending on how cold it is outside. Mine dosent allways warm up right away either but it dosent take longer then say 10 miles maybe 5-7 honestly.

the fan is not on. i believe the temp gauge is correct because its linear to how warm the heat it. i drove 15 miles before i got decent heat, which was about a 20min drive.
all of my hondas and my friends usually warm up after about 5 min of driving.

i think it may be because i dont have a condensor or a block off for the 1/2 radiator. all the air is blowing directly on the motor not allowing it to warm up fast.

This could be it. If you're missing the A/C condensor more air will hit the motor. Guess you could put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator.

i had a problem on my crx with not enough air going through the 1/2 radiator and causing it to overheat (see my sig)

there is no such thing as taking too long to warm up.
There is such thing as overheating, just make sure you aren't leaking coolant and you have no bubbles in the coolant.
Also make sure your fan is turning on at it's right time, usually 20-30 min after idle, maybe even longer. It all depends on temp.

my coupe takes 20min to warm up and my crx takes 5 min. same radiator/thermostat setup, no leaks. i drive all the way to work with cold air blowing on me.
heres what i think gives it away: i let it sit and idle to warm up and it warmed up and got nice and toasty, i went out and drove it and the needle went back down and the heat cooled. i think i need a block off plate.

yes that was the first thing i did when i fired up the motor the 1st time. i do it excessively on all my cars. i had an air bubble curse once.
