96 EX

So the Y8 I have is a complete mess. Its misfiring, leaking oil, burning oil, the tranny grinds and pops out of gear, and I need new motor mounts. I was on craigslist and a fellow is selling a d16y8 swap w/ axles, 2 manifolds, 2 fuel rails and a extra OEM downpipe. This is all for $300 and delivered, BUT the bottom end of the block has a hole in it from a thrown rod. Which leads me to think that the owner was beating up on it. He said the tranny is perfect but the bottom end of the block of course needs replaced. Is this worth it? I believe that I can get another bottom end and piece it together myself as well as the swap. I searched but couldnt find any real related topics due to the funky search engine on this website.
