d16 help quick!!!
alright. everyone is talking about their d16's. i could only afford a dx civic. it has a d15. i was looking at a turbo for the car. but i want to build the motor to be reliable with a turbo. the problem is a mini me swap wont work because i cant find forged rods. the point is i cant find a place to get a decent running d16 that can be shipped from a website. if someone could give me some suggestions on whether to keep the d15 or look for a d16.

You don't need forged rods for a mini me swap. As for the motor, you should be able to find a complete d16 setup at a salvage yard, or you might want to call around and ask some shops that do motor swaps if they have any lying around. I scored a motor and trans for 500 bucks at a local performance shop. It will probably be a little easier to find parts for the d16. Oh yeah... just to let you know... you might not want to use "Help Quick!!!" in your title unless you need help quick. Some of the h-t guys can be pretty harsh. Good luck man.

You live in florida. Your should check out this site http://www.tamparacing.com/for...sale/. They have a **** load of parts on there from all over florida and you can usually find d16's for dirt cheap.

D15B7 parts are hard to come by... I'm building a D15B7 bottom end with D16Y8 head since I actually found some second hand D15B7 Crower rods (the only company that makes them)... and decided to go for custom JE Pistons (with the D16Y8 head "stock" forged pistons won't give good compression for boost).
If you can't get the Crower rods cheap, meaning second hand, swapping a D16 is a better idea
