D16 Build Questions
Car: 1996 Honda Civic DX 1.6L non-vtec (D16Y7)
Mileage: 280k
Problems: Water pump failure caused an overheat which lead to a warped head and blown gasket.
This is my first engine rebuild and I didn't plan on doing this. It was supposed to be a timing belt, water pump, head gasket repair, but the engine black had some warping and needed to be decked.
I'm getting the block back from the shop tomorrow. The shop said in very good shape, and want to start rebuilding it soon, but I want to prepare for it and do it right.
Two Questions:
1. Does anyone know where I can get a list of every rubber part attached to the engine block? Finding some kind of all inclusive list of gaskets would be very helpful. I just want to make sure I have all the parts I need when I start building it.
2. What is the best guide for a first time D16Y7 engine build? I have the FSM already and that's probably all I need, but I don't like getting stuck and don't want to forget anything. Also, I saw this youtube video advertising for a dvd that claims to show where every last bolt goes. Does anyone know this video and if so, is it as good as he claims?
I have pretty much everything labeled and took photos as I disassembled, but there are alot of little bits here and I want to make sure I do it right and don't miss anything.
All advice will be greatly appreciated.

I moved your thread to the 92-00 civc/sol section as I suspect that is the right era of your car for your rebuild.
And since it's a general rebuild first time, this is a good spot as you are not necessarily going for the kind of build you would need the machining, precision machinist engine assembly sort of advise. That section is more for the high end custom builds with sleeving, balancing parts for 10K RPM, precision porting etc. Not the stock general first time rebuild.
Please check the rules sticky at the top of the forum and then edit your post to include preliminary car information (year/make/model/trim/mods).
