i just swapped my d16z6 that i built for boost. just trying to get everything running the right way before i go bolting on the turbo stuff.

well i got it started and running but it sounds like it was missing. redid the timing belt twice. its tensioned properly and timing is on as far as the belt goes. i randomly just pulled the spark plug wires out while it was running to see if anything changed. dies/stalls when i pull number 1 or 2. doesnt change when i unplug 3 or 4. my guess is injectors or a problem with spark.

i have a spare d15b8, will the injectors work in the z6? idk if the cc are any different. im leaning towards they arent but i figured id ask first.

CLIFFS:d16z6 starts but is running on 2 cylinders. gonna try and swap two of the injectors from my spare d15b8. is this a good/safe idea?

Dumb question, but did you check if plug wires 3 and 4 swapped by accident?

B8 injectors are 190-195cc, don't do it.

Try swapping the injectors around and then pulling the plug wires out to see if the engine sounds any different (or stalls) like you did before. At least this way you can tell if it's a cylinder specific problem or not.

@95 If that's my problem I will feel so dumb haha. Ill check them tomorrow.

@24 I planned on swapping the z6 injectors around from cylinder to cylinder and see if the problem follows or stays in the same cylinders. I was asking if I can use the b8 as replacements instead of buying and waiting for stock z6 ones to come in the mail. Thanks for the clarification on cc between the two.

i ended up having my firing order messed up on the distributor. hooked them up the right way and it fired right up. thanks guys
