Default d15b7 thermostat recommendations

What's up H-T. The other day I started my hatch in the morning and while looking at my radiator and the coolant levels I noticed the coolant was flowing... again the engine just started early in the morning , then I checked the temperature near the top radiator hose to the engine and it was 146 , climbed to 160 and stopped. I believe the correct temperature should be 190! Anyways , obviously my thermostat is shitted, what brand/model thermostat made for the d15b7 would you guys suggest?

It's safe to run without it temporarily, so go ahead, remove it. and then use RTV / sealant to put the thermostat housing back together until you can grab a replacement.
Stant or Gates are fine, or just fork out extra for knowing you got OEM.

I usually just go with a 170F (OEM temperature) Stant Superstat for my D15B7. Works fine for me. Never tried Gates, but I've heard they generally make quality stuff too.

I personally prefer OEM and they're not that expensive.

Can someone confirm if the stock temperature rating should be ~190 or ~170

It should start opening at 172F (+/- 4F), so 170F would be closer to the OEM temperature. The 180F stats will work fine, but they're mainly for D15Z1 engines.

This info from the Honda Service Manual.
