I can't remember where I read this, but if I find it I'll post it. I read that it's about 100whp. I know that sounds like the manufacturers HP rating. Actually it should be a 102hp engine. As we know 15-20% is lost in the drivetrain. That would put the engine at around 81-87whp. I dunno about everyone else with a stock d15b7, but my car is pretty fast for a 1.5L 4banger. At least it feels fast. I mean sometimes it feels like I have VTEC, I swear. But it must be the engine's characteristics in that of it being a top end performer.
I race against my friends 93 Del Sol Si all the time (125hp stock) and I constantly pull away from him by half to one whole car length. Granted, my car is gutted, a DX and I think I drive slightly better. It's pretty neck and neck, but I still win with 25 less HP.

P.S. my car is fast

I meant the vtec thing jokingly. But seriously though, the car will literally pull slightly, noticeably harder at higher rpm's.

Hey Bishop I am with you. I have a 93 DX with bumped timing 18deg., ghetto CAI (basically remove the intake silencer) and I was neck and neck with my buddies 95 Si Hatch with a short ram.!! I think the DX has a little on the D16Z low range but once they get on the cam it gets tough to stay with them. I also weighted my car on an electronic scale at a racetrack and its 2180 empty.!! The Si was porkey, like 2345...SO at least the DXs are lighter than the EX Si which definitely helps.
