okay so this is my first honda... and i have a 95 DX coupe with super high miles on it and a D15B7

the car is gutless! (i'm used to my 260HP AWD Turbo Volvo)

i picked up a bunch of bits from my buddies old car that got hit

so i have his turbo, manifold, intercooler, injectors, ECU, and he gave me a BOV

no idea what size anything is. i'm going to get more info from him the next time i see him

my car needs a new clutch and a distributor..

so i picked up a complete D16Z6 with the Transmission out of a 93 SI for $100 from a guy who bought the car for its body and was dropping in a B18

the previous owner had a new clutch put in about a week before her alternator went so this was a score for me considering i got

the engine, transmission, clutch, starter, intake manifold, injectors + fuel rail, distributor, new NGK wires, cooked alternator core. and the engine harness


SO... my car now runs a P06 ECU and i need a P28 to run my D16Z6 if i'm not mistaken

The turbo tuned ECU i got from my buddy is from a D16Y7 (P2E)
can i make this work? or would it be cheaper to buy a pre-tuned P28 ecu off ebay for $200

also what else am i going to need to setup the VTEC in my non-VTEC car?

will the engine harness click right in? from a 93 SI into a 95 DX?


i would like to get the D16Z6 atleast running in my car before i boost it, but if i need to get the P28 ECU i think it might be easier to just get it mapped for boost right away and do everything all at once..

let me know what you guys think : S this will be the first time i boost an N/A car and i know its going to be a pain in my A$$ but if the pain sounds too big i might just do the vtec swap and dump my boost bits on KIJIJI as i do already have a header on my D15 so N/A might be the way to go here

You cannot POSSIBLY have a tuned P2E.
If I were you I'd chuck the boost components or shelve them until you know what the hell it is you have. You don't even know much about this STOCK engine much less trying to boost it.
You can run the P06 but you won't have VTEC unless it was converted.

okay i just looked again and the turbo tuned D16Y7 ECU i have is a P06! since my car should have came with this same ECU can i run the turbo without vtec? just a thought.. i know my buddies civic was 96 or newer so this ECU should be OBD2, how big of a deal is that? i found a P28 ECU for $60 that would get me running N/A with VTEC

i'm probably not going to boost the car i just kindof like the idea of having the power.

so how hard is it going to be to drop this 93 SI D16Z6 VTEC 16 valve into my
95 DX D15B7 non-VTEC 16 valve car?

are there differences in the main connections on the engine harness'?

will a OBD1 P28 ECU click right into my harness or will i have to change the connectors?

also if i have a P06 in my car now and this tuned P06 is setup for a turbo but no VTEC..

could i slap the turbo on my D15B7 for ***** and have some fun before i swap in the D16Z6 and if i blow the thing up i don't really care lol

Ok so to answer some of your basic swap questions.
The 93 Z6 is a direct swap into your 95 Dx. The Dx harness will all plug into the Z6 minus what you will need to add for Vtec, unless you have the Z6 harness. If so the just swap the harnesses along with the motor, direct plug and play swap. All this is considering that the Dx is a 5 spd. The P06 will run the D16Z6 but will not have Vtec unless the you have it converted to run Vtec. Dont know if that ECU is chipped or not but I leave the chipping and tuning to my tuner so I lack in ECU internal info.
For sure know what turbo you have and what injectors and if that ECU is chipped and tuned or not. You will need a retune for the D16Z6 of Vtec at least and if you turbo it as well. You can have your Dx P06 Crome chipped and tuned for pretty cheap.
